Inside Zagreb Airport – Everything You Need to Know

Welcome to Franjo Tuđman Airport in Zagreb, Croatia! Built in 2017, this sleek and modern airport is a true architectural gem. As we admire its contemporary glass facade, we’re stepping into one of the most beautiful and efficient gateways to this charming city. Let's step inside and explore this well-designed airport.

Arrivals Gate Adventure

After stepping off the airport shuttle bus, we make our way toward the main entrance. The modern glass doors slide open, welcoming us into the arrivals area. Whether you’re here to collect your bags or head straight for the exit, clear signs guide you effortlessly.

The space feels bright and welcoming, with plenty of natural light streaming in. If you’re heading to baggage claim, follow the large overhead signs pointing you in the right direction—this area is just a short walk from here. If you’re traveling light and don’t need to stop for bags, the exit is right ahead, leading you directly to ground transportation options.

Baggage Claim Walk

As you proceed to baggage claim, the first thing you’ll notice is how clean and well-organized this space is. The signage is clear and easy to follow, guiding you to the right conveyor belts in no time. To make things even simpler, electronic screens display live updates with your flight details, so you’ll always know exactly where to go.

Waiting for your luggage? Take a moment to explore the area. Luggage trolleys are placed conveniently near each belt, and there are vending machines nearby if you need a quick drink or snack. For those traveling with kids or anyone needing a break, seating areas are scattered throughout.

Before you exit to the main hall, make a quick stop at the restrooms—clearly marked and located near the baggage claim area. These are clean and modern, ensuring you’re refreshed for the next leg of your journey. With everything thoughtfully arranged, the baggage claim process here is smooth and stress-free. Whether you're heading to the main hall or making a quick pit stop, Zagreb Airport keeps convenience top of mind.

Into the Main Hall

After collecting your luggage, you’ll approach the exit. What you’ll notice here is that this section is for EU travelers only, ensuring a smooth transition for those within the Schengen zone. Clear signage helps non-EU travelers find the appropriate exit nearby, so there’s no confusion.

As you step into the main hall, you’re greeted by a range of facilities designed to make your arrival easier. There are currency exchange desks and ATMs to grab some euros if needed. You'll find car rental counters from major brands, making it convenient to pick up your pre-booked ride.

If you’re feeling hungry or in need of a break, cozy café spots line the area, offering quick snacks, coffee, and even some local treats. Keep an eye out for the Visitor Center Zagreb—a hub of useful information, maps, and guides to help you plan your time in the city. This welcoming and well-organized space ensures you’re ready for the next part of your journey.
