The new monastery was founded in 963 A.D. by John Lambardopoulos, known as the philosopher of light.

Τhe distance from Dimitsana village is 10 - 15 Km, depending on the road you choose.

The monastery is open to the public.

Monks living there can guide you around.

Inside the main church you can admire the unique frescoes by Cretan iconographer Victor.

You can hike to the old monastery, following a marked path.
