Venice, Italy how to get to Saint Mark's square by boat from train station.

THE TRAIN STATION

Train stops at Venezia Santa Lucia railway station.

Exit the station and head to the water taxi station in front of you.

THE WATER BUS STOP

Look for Route 1 or 2

Largest boats stop at every station along the Grand Canal.

DURATION

It takes 30 – 45 minutes to reach the end stop, depending if you are aboard the fast ship or not.

TICKETS

You can buy 1, 2, 3 or 7 day ticket travelcards.

There are ACTV Ticket Machines at various places in Venice.

VAPORETTO STOP

For St. Mark’s Square you will have to get of to the homonymous Vaporetto Stop.

Then to reach the square, walk right to the Doge’s palace.

If you wish to get back to the train station on foot, follow the series of signs leading you to Santa Lucia railway station.
