For Greek Orthodox Christians Good Friday is a mournful day.

It is the day that commemorates the Passion of Christ.

Even shops stay closed in the morning for people to pray the empty cross in church.

In the evening or mostly at night starts Epitafios.

With lit candles believers accompany the decorated with flowers Epitafios outside the church, on the surrounding streets.

In big cities usually different Epitaphs are joined in street corners and a common prayer is sung.

Some consider it a blessing to pass under Epitafios when the procession returns to the church.
