Forget JFK, fly JMK! Mykonos Greece windy landing with an ATR 72 turboprop by Astra airlines.
Just 4 Km away from the town of Mykonos, JMK (LGMK) is usually a windy airport. Approach from either runway 34 or 16 is often under turbulence and pilots have also to consider the terrain to the north. The runway is only 1900 m long and the airport operated for the first time in June 1971. Before your flight booking, note that there is no public bus transport, only taxis. The sea approach flies over Paradise and Super Paradise beaches, giving a first look of the island. This is a flight with an ATR72-202 twin-engine turboprop by Astra Airlines. Up to some years ago only turboprops landed because the runway was even shorter!
Now, this is not the case!
